The U.S. Embassy has received word that the border crossing along the Georgian Military Highway between Russia and Georgia has apparently been closed by Russian authorities due to the unrest in Northern Ossetia. American citizens planning to travel from Georgia to Russia via the military highway should contact local Georgian authorities to determine if the border has reopened.
