FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

 

If granted a visa, it will be issued the same or next working day. However, in many case a beneficiary can receive a temporary 221-g denial.

What is a 221-g Denial?
If you receive a temporary 221-g visa denial, this means that you are asked to provide additional information. As soon as you have collected the requested information, you can return to the Consular Section any Tuesday or Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 am.

Who is allowed to attend an interview?
The interview is conducted one-on-one with the beneficiary only. If the petitioner wishes to attend an interview, he or she may do so. However, attorneys, family members, friends or other people unrelated to the case are not permitted to participate in an interview. An exception is made for minor children (under 16) who should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Can a refugee/asylee case be processed in Tbilisi?
ALL Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani citizen refugee/asylee cases are processed through DHS in Moscow, Russia.

Can a third country national apply for a visa?
Third Country National applications are only accepted if the beneficiary is a resident of Georgia, Armenia or Azerbaijan.
