2008-2009 FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR PROGRAM
The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the opening of the annual Fulbright competition for scholars who wish to pursue post-doctoral research in the United States during the 2008-2009 academic year.
Benefits: The Fulbright program provides transportation and a living allowance to do research for a period of up to nine months in an American university or relevant professional establishment.
Criteria: Applicants must have the following qualifications to apply for the program:
Architecture, urban planning, economics, business administration, communications/journalism, law, international and/or security affairs, public administration, American Studies, American literature, political science, education, public health, sociology (contemporary social issues, public opinion, demography, social work, etc.), religious studies, linguistics, music, theatre/dance, art, film studies, chemistry, physics, biology.
Applicants who returned to Georgia from the U.S. government educational exchange program after 2004 are not eligible to participate in 2008-2009 academic year Fulbright program.
Please note that although the application form itself lists a wide range of possible disciplines, each year's program is confined to a smaller number of disciplines. Please refer to our list of disciplines provided above when considering the Fulbright program for the 2008-2009 academic year.
