Art Competition Dedicated to Earth Day
In celebration of the 37th anniversary of the Earth Day on April 22, the United States Embassy, in partnership with the Georgian Culture Promotion and Development Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, announces an art competition for youth in the 10-15 year age category, based on the theme, "What is important to you about our environment?”
Artworks submitted may include paintings, drawings, photographs, posters, textiles or any other two-dimensional media. Three-dimensional works such as sculpture cannot be accepted. Return of the works to the artists cannot be guaranteed. Entries will be judged by an international panel, and prizes will be awarded for the top three entries as follows:
First Prize: 100 lari
Second Prize: 75 lari
Third Prize: 50 lari
Selected works will be sent to Washington, D.C. for an international art exhibition and will be exhibited in Tbilisi on Earth Day 2007.
The deadline for submitting artwork is April 02, 2007.
