2008 U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery Registration October 4–December 3
The DV-2008 (Green card) Lottery registration period will run from Wednesday noon, EDT on October 4, 2006 until Sunday noon, EST December 3, 2006. The DV-2008 lottery will be conducted entirely electronically, including electronic entry. Paper entries are not accepted. The U.S. Department of State has established a dedicated website for the submission of E-DV entries, http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/.
Successfully registered entries will result in the display of a confirmation screen containing the applicant's name, date of birth, country of chargeability, and a date/time stamp, which can then be printed.
People may prepare and submit their own entries, or have someone submit the entry for them. Regardless of whether an entry is submitted by the individual directly, or assistance is provided by an attorney, friend, relative, etc., only one entry may be submitted in the name of each individual, and the person entering the lottery remains responsible for insuring that the information is correct and complete. If the entry is selected, the notification letter will be sent only to the mailing address provided on the entry.
