Ambassador and Mrs. Bass Join Race for the Cure (June 11)

Ambassador John R. Bass and Holly Holzer Bass joined First Lady Sandra Roelofs to participate in the seventh annual Race for the Cure event to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among Georgian women of reproductive age. Early stage breast cancer detection has doubled since the beginning of the national screening program in 2008, in part thanks to the awareness raising campaigns like Race for the Cure. The race is supported in part by the U.S. Government’s Sustaining Family Planning and Maternal and Child Health Services in Georgia (SUSTAIN) project through USAID.
