Mock debates for the US Presidential Elections in Khashuri American Corner (November 1)
On November 1st, the Khashuri American Corner organized mock debates for the US Presidential Elections with the participation of about 20 local high school students. After a two-week election campaign at their local schools, the AC students researched and presented the Presidential candidates and their policies on domestic as well as foreign issues. The debate was intense and involved many questions from the audience. The students will continue the campaign and agitate people to participate in mock elections at the Khashuri AC on November 5th. Results will get tallied on November 6th.
All American Corner patrons are welcome to participate in the “Mock Elections 2012”. There are unofficial ballot boxes and sample ballots available at the American Corners - everybody can vote: AC users, students, and library staff. A person could vote only one time and there is no age restriction.
