Ambassador Norland travel to Adjara (October 19)

Ambassador Norland discussed trafficking related issues with batumi based NGOs and government representatives at GYLA's Batumi office.

Ambassador Richard Norland, along with his spouse Ms. Mary Hartnett, are traveling in the Adjara region this weekend. He has met with various government officials, civil society members and university students to reiterate the United States continued support for Georgia and the need to continue improving democratic processes and the rule of law with regard to protecting the rights of trafficked women.

The United States is committed to supporting Georgia as it consolidates its democratic gains and works to become closer to achieving its Euro-Atlantic integration. We look forward to working with the entire government, both ruling party and opposition members, to ensure that Georgia fulfills its promises to the Georgian people.
