Senator McCain Visits Batumi

U.S. Senators John McCain, John Thune and John Barrasso visited Batumi and Zugdidi on January 10-11.  During their visit, President Saakashvili awarded Senator McCain with the prestigious Order of National Hero, an honor never before bestowed upon a non-Georgian.   The U.S. Senators met with opposition leaders,  and during their stop in Zugdidi, they met with the Chief of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM), Hansjoerg Haber,  and internally displaced persons.
