Secretary Clinton Visits Tbilisi

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton traveled to Tbilisi on July 5. During her visit, she led a town hall meeting with women leaders from civil society and government. Afterward, she had several meetings with President Mikheil Saakashvili and senior Georgian government officials, as well as representatives from Georgian political opposition parties.
During a joint press conference with President Saakashvili, the Secretary emphasized the U.S. commitment to Georgia's territorial integrity, as well as U.S. support for Georgia's democracy and economy. She also thanked Georgia for its contributions to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
