Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried to Visit Tbilisi

U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary For European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried will visit Tbilisi October 17 -19. During his visit, Assistant Secretary Fried will meet with President Saakashvili, Prime Minister Noghaideli, Foreign Minister Bezhuashvili, Speaker Burjanadze, and other government officials to discuss U.S. support for Georgia’s democratic reforms, including the recent October 5 local elections, Georgia’s entry into Intensified Dialogue with NATO, and ongoing steps to peacefully resolve the separatist conflicts of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
