Polish Team Arrives to Prepare for Special Economic Advisor to the President

Tbilisi - On Tuesday, July 25, an economic policy team from Poland will arrive in Tbilisi for a three-day working visit in preparation for the arrival in early August of Special Economic Advisor to the President, Leszek Balcerowicz. Leading the economic team visit are Vice President of the Board of CASE Institute in Warsaw, Dr. Ewa Balcerowicz, and former Secretary of State of the Ministry of Finance of Poland, Mr. Jerzy Miller.

Dr. Balcerowicz and Mr. Miller will have a series of meetings with the government officials to discuss the future work of Mr. Balcerowicz in the capacity of Special Economic Advisor to the President. Mr. Balcerowicz will come to Georgia on August 8. At the request of President Shevardnadze, the U.S. government is funding the special economic advisor, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the development assistance agency of the U.S. government.
