U.S. Military Airlifts GeorgianFirst Brigade from Iraq
On August 11, 2008, the last members of the Georgian First Brigade who had been serving in Iraq, landed at Tbilisi airport aboard U.S. Air Force planes. Close to 2000 Georgian service members were brought back from Iraq in record time, less than 92 hours after the Government of Georgia requested they be returned.
