General William T. Hobbins Visits Georgia

May 15-16, 2007

May 15-16, General Tom Hobbins will visit Georgia. General Hobbins is Commander, U.S. Air Forces Europe; Commander, Air Component Command, Ramstein; and Director, Joint Air Power Competency Center, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The focus of General Hobbins’ visit is U.S. Air Force personnel serving at the Krtsanisi Training Area as part of the Georgia Sustainment and Stability Operations Program (GSSOP II) which is training the Georgian army for service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. General Hobbins will also meet with Georgian counterparts to explore how U.S. Air Force Europe can further support the Georgian armed forces’ contribution to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

While in Tbilisi, General Hobbins will make courtesy calls on the Chief of Georgia’s Air Force, Coloniel David Nairashvili, and Georgia’s Chief of General Staff, Colonial Zaza Gogava. Official biography: http://www.af.mil/bios/bio.asp?bioID=5812
