The U.S. Embassy has learned that a demonstration is planned for Friday, November 2 on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament. The demonstration is intended to be peaceful but demonstrations are, by nature, unpredictable and we wish to remind American citizens to exercise caution if in the vicinity of any demonstration. Embassy staff members have been instructed to avoid the area on November 2 and we also encourage American citizens to do the same.
For the latest security information, Americans living and traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov, where the current Worldwide Caution, Public Announcements, Travel Warnings, and health information resources can be found. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).
