US Government Helps Georgia to Make Progress in Disaster Preparedness (October 9)

On October 9, U.S. Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Jeffrey VanDreal will speak at a graduation ceremony for an Incident Command System course at the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy.  The U.S. Coast Guards International training Division out of Yorktown, VA  conducted the five-day training course for 23 participants from multiple agencies within the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Coast Guard, Border Police, Patrol Police and Emergency Management Division. The course serves as a capstone to three levels of training focused on interagency cooperation in major disaster responses: e.g. flood, earthquake, fire, terrorist attack, etc.  The Police Academy hosted the training and provided all necessary resources and equipment.
