Ambassador at GFSIS

On February 29, 2008 U.S. Ambassador John Tefft visited Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) to attend the graduation ceremony for the students of the International Relations and National Security Program 2007.
The State Department has been supporting this program since 2006 taking after U.S. based RAND Corporation funding from 2001 to 2006. The Ambassador personally passed the graduation Certificates to each of the recent graduates, mainly public servants from different governmental agencies interested in international politics and strategic studies. Ambassador Tefft thanked the GFSIS President Dr. Alex Rondeli and Senior Fellows of the Foundation for successful realization of the Program for several years already. Ambassador Tefft stressed the importance of GFSIS in the political life of Georgia as the vanguard of young professionals advance, concluding his remarks by saying that the promotion of GFSIS Executive Vice-President Temuri Yakobashvili to the post of the State Minister for Reintegration has been the recognition of this commitment.
