Muskie Fellow Shares Experiences in US in the “Weekly Georgia Journal”
Maia Mateshvili, a Muskie fellow studying Journalism and Mass Communication at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, continues to contribute to media development in her home country. Mateshvili published an article in the March 22–28, 2007 edition of the newly established Weekly Georgian Journal. In her article “How I Stopped Worrying and Started Learning”, Maia introduces the Muskie Fellowship as one of the best opportunities for professionals and encourages everyone to apply. She also stresses the importance of not valuing the Universities with names not familiar to potential applicants. She writes “Most people in Georgia only know colleges like Harvard or Yale, but the truth is, there are many universities with excellent programs we haven’t heard about!” In her article, Mateshvili explains all of the benefits of participation in Muskie, such as various personal and professional experiences, learning about various lifestyles and understanding the ways things work in US.
Additionally, Maia Mateshvili participated in the interview on the Radio Voice of America. Her interview was aired on March 4th throughout Georgia and streamed on-line. You can find it in the archive of the VOA web-site:
