Students Of The Cairo American College Start A Partnership Program With A School In Gavazi, Georgia
On March 16-24, 2007, a group of 18 American students and teachers from the American College in Cairo, Egypt, visited Georgia to start a partnership program with the Gavazi High School in Kakheti, East Georgia. The students spent 6 days in Gavazi working on service projects and team building exercises with the Georgian students. As a result of the visit, the Gavazi School Garden was improved, new friendships were established, and future plans of cooperation were set. The Gavazi School is the first Georgian school which started a Future Farmers of Georgia Association based on the U.S. model. The school successfully participated in the U.S. Department of State-funded school partnership program with Esparto High School in California during 2002-2004.
The students of Cairo American College concluded their trip in Georgia by visiting the U.S. Embassy and meeting the Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Mark Perry, who greeted the students and wished them success in their future endeavors. |
