Georgian Journalists Develop Expertise in National Security and Foreign Policy Issues
On March 23, President of the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) Alex Rondeli and U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Rowena Cross-Najafi awarded certificates and special prizes to Georgian journalists, who graduated from a six-month training course in National Security and Foreign Policy Issues. Funded through the U.S. Embassy Democracy Commission Grant Program, top scholars of GFSIS provided more than 22 journalists with insights on issues related to international affairs, economics of transition, globalization and transformation, nationalism and ethnic conflicts. Ms. Cross-Najafi was pleased to learn from the graduates that the training has greatly improved the journalists’ professional skills to provide analysis and expertise in domestic and foreign policy issues to audiences in Georgia and beyond.
