UGRAD Fellows Serve Food to Homeless Americans
UGRAD fellows Nana Samkharadze and Giorgi Tchekhani are actively engaged in community service in their host town of Tacoma. During the month of September, they volunteered to help at the “Tacoma Rescue Mission,” where they served food to homeless and low-income community members. They enjoyed their project so much that they decided to continue volunteering there, even though they have finished the required hours of community service for the UGRAD program. Nana and Giorgi are both studying Law at Tacoma Community College in Washington, during the 2006-2007 academic year through the U.S. State Department’s Undergraduate Exchange or “UGRAD” program.
