U.S. Embassy Celebrates Fifth U.S. Education Fair
On October 28, 2006 Ambassador John Tefft attended the official opening of the fifth U.S. Education Fair at Tbilisi State University. The fair was jointly organized by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy, Tbilisi State University, Kvali Education Advising Center and the International Center for Education.
Mr. George Khubua, Rector of Tbilisi State University, Ms. Bela Tsipuria, Deputy Minister of Education and Science and Ms. Nino Chinchaladze, Head of the International Center for Education, joined the Ambassador in welcoming remarks and greeted all the fair participants and invited guests.
The U.S. Education Fair is an annual event which gives Georgian students and scholars an opportunity to enrich their knowledge on the American educational system and obtain comprehensive information about study in the U.S. Seminars which were presented this year covered a wide variety of issues, which were interesting not only for students but also for parents, professors and university administrators. Workshops on academic integrity in the U.S., American-style graduate training in economics, various student loan programs, how to obtain exchange visas and many more were presented at the 2006 Education Fair. |
