Georgian Government Officials
Participate in Anti-Terrorism Forum in Washington D.C.
From January 16-27, twenty senior Georgian Government officials
representing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Border Guard,
Customs Service, Office of the Prosecutor General, Ministry
of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, and Parliament participated in the State Department's
Executive Anti-terrorism Forum in Washington, D.C. This Forum,
administered by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security's Anti-terrorism
Assistance (ATA) program, provided an opportunity for senior
Georgian Government officials to meet with their U.S. Government
counterparts to discuss current issues and concerns with regard
to both countries' efforts in the Global War on Terror (GWOT).
This Forum, and other ATA program courses provided to Georgia,
strengthen Georgian-U.S. GWOT cooperative and unilateral efforts
and broaden and improve Georgian Government anti-terrorism capabilities.
The photo of the participants - with State Department officials,
U.S. Embassy Tbilisi staff, and Baltimore Police Department
officers - was taken at the State Department."
