Ice Cream Reception for American Councils FLEX Students

On Wednesday, July 5, 2006, Rowena Cross-Najafi, Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy, hosted 106 high school students participating in the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program. Half of the students had recently returned from the United States and the other half will soon depart for the United States. The FLEX program, implemented by American Councils and funded by the State Department, sends highly qualified high school students to the United States for a year to develop leadership and English language skills to help them become future leaders in Georgia. The reception provided the students an opportunity to reconnect with friends, make new contacts and share their experiences in the United States while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and Baskin Robins ice cream.
