The concert took place at the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre on November 6, 2003 and was organized by the Georgian company, "Eastern Promotions". This concert was a celebration of some of the beautiful songs and most memorable music from American movie classics. Since 1964, Lalo Schifrin is credited with over 150 Soundtracks. He has received six Oscar nominations, four Grammy Awards, the ACE Award, the BMI Life Achievement Award and a "Walk of Fame" star in Hollywood. The concert played to a full house, attracting over 1,500 spectators. The Georgian State Symphony Orchestra performed several encores, and the concert concluded with a jazz impoviso by Schifrin and State Symphony director Vakhtang Machavariani on dueling pianos and the Symphony's jazz percussionists.
