U.S. Elections Explained on Analytical Talk Show

On October 24, 2008, Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) broadcast live an hour-long political discussion on the U.S. Elections in a program organized by PAS Tbilisi.  (GPB’s “Commentary of the Day” is the only political talk show currently on air in Georgia, after other stations cancelled their talk shows for either financial reasons or as a consequence of Government pressure.)  PAS arranged for four experts – a retired U.S. official, a university rector, the head of a Georgian think tank, and a professor of American history - to explain the intricacies of U.S. elections at a time when Georgian interest in the U.S. elections is at an all time high.  The show’s producer commented that viewer interest was very high and “our whole staff was amazed to learn so much – the guests were very open and extremely informative.”
