20 Years of Atlanta-Tbilisi Sister City

John E. Hall, Jr., Chairman of the Atlanta-Tbilisi Sister City Committee, visited Tbilisi October 22-28.  Mr. Hall met with Gigi Ugulava, the Mayor of Tbilisi, and presented him with a plaque from Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the Atlanta-Tbilisi sister city relationship.  Mr. Hall attended cultural events and a gala dinner to celebrate “Tbilisoba” (Tbilisi City Days) October 25-26.   As part of a U.S. Trade Delegation, Mr. Hall participated in the U.S. - Georgia Business Summit on October 27, and met with Georgian businessmen to discuss the upcoming Georgian-U.S. Economic Forum in Atlanta on December 12.  He also visited the Tbilisi Youth House to donate more than $13,000 in assistance that was collected at a September 27 fundraising event in Atlanta.   PAS developed contacts with Hall through the Open World program and he has hosted four Open World study groups from Georgia to date.
