Representatives Donnelly and King Visit Georgia amid Massive Pro-Georgian Demonstrations
Representatives Joe Donnelly (D-IN) and Steve King (R-IA) visited Tbilisi September 1, as more than 1,000,000 Georgian citizens joined hands across the country in an enormous rally supporting Georgia. Likening the human chain to a Fourth of July celebration, Representatives Donnelly and King expressed their support for the Georgian people and the Georgian government. Representatives Donnelly and King visited a shelter for families displaced by the conflict and met with President Saakashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament and other parliamentarians, and the Defense and Finance Ministers.
