September 1, GTEP DONATES TO ORPHANAGE
Dzvegi - On September 1st 2003, representatives of the Georgia Train and Equip program visited Dzvegi orphanage near Mtskheta to present donations of shoes, socks, hygiene items, school supplies, and toys for the children. The servicemen and women of GTEP served watermelon and talked and played games with the orphanage's young residents. Mrs. Sharon Miles, wife of US ambassador Richard Miles, attended the event along with Rowena Cross-Najafi, Wendy Kennedy, and Nana Kiknadze of the US Public Affairs Section and were given a personal tour of the orphanage. Independent TV station Mze provided positive television of the event.
