When administrative processing is complete, our office will contact you directly or we will return your passport and visa.  If you need to submit additional documentation to our office, you may follow the directions here to do so.

If you would like to check the status of your case, you may visit the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website to check the status of your visa application.  You will need to input the barcode number (application ID) from your DS-160 application to access your case.  The U.S. Embassy cannot provide the barcode if you have misplaced it.  All NIV cases created within the past year are available in CEAC Status Check.


The check will return one of the following results:

Administrative Processing: Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing.  Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If 60 days have passed since your last contact with our office, you may check on the status of your case by email and we will provide you with a status update, if available. 

Issued: Your visa is in final processing. You may track the delivery of your passport to your pre-designated pickup location after two business days. 

Refused: Your application was refused for reasons other than administrative processing. Please see the letter or other instructions you received at the interview.
