Visit of the U.S. Marine Security Guard Detachment to the American Corner at the Youth Palace in Tbilisi

U.S. Marines visit Youth Palace American Corner in Tbilisi.

The Marine Detachment took great pleasure in paying a visit to the American Corner at the Youth Palace on March 13, 2009.  The trip included three presentations:  on Marine Corps History, Boot Camp (basic training) and the role of the Marine Security Guards at the U.S. Embassy here in Tbilisi.  The Marines also gave an inside look at the Corps customs and courtesies, rank structure, women in the military and the Marine Corps role in the United States Armed Forces.  The audience asked questions and used the opportunity to become familiar with the Corps traditions.
